Thaddeus Conti—poet, artist—has been a vital force in the New Orleans poetry community for more than a decade. His legendary poetic coinages like “shamanibalistic”, “antiquasi fornitado” and “catastasis” have become an essential part of the ever-growing lexicon of New Orleans’ speak. Conti’s visual works have shown in galleries and coffee house throughout New Orleans, and his poems have appeared recently in MustachioedSimpatico Poets, and YAWP: a Journal of Poetry & Art. Thaddeus Conti’s book-length collection of drawings & poems, aepoetics was published by Lavender Ink in October 2008.

Ed Skoog grew up in Topeka, Kansas, and has lived in Montana, Louisiana, and southern California, and now lives in Seattle. He has been a Bread Loaf Fellow, Writer-in-Residence at the Richard Hugo House, and the Jenny McKean Moore Writer-in-Residence at George Washington University. He has taught at New Orleans Center for Creative Arts, Tulane, Fishtrap, and Idyllwild Arts. His poems have appeared in Paris Review, The New Republic, Poetry, Narrative, Ploughshares, Tin House, and elsewhere. His first book is Mister Skylight (Copper Canyon Press, 2009).
